Dear Increment readers,

Increment’s journey started over four years ago, in April 2017. Since then, we’ve had the honor and privilege of publishing over 250 stories for and by the developer community, covering everything from COBOL to testing to API design, from scaling software systems to mindsets and practices that improve both the developer and user experience. We’ve worked with over 400 engineers, editors, writers, illustrators, and more to create and publish our 19 issues. 

In that time, we’ve been humbled to hear how readers have used learnings and insights from these pages to grow, scale, and build teams, companies, and software systems. Knowing Increment has had a positive and motivating impact on your work has been an enduring source of joy and pride for our team.

This is our final quarterly issue, and we present it to you with enormous gratitude for being part of the story. Increment’s mission has been to help software engineers work together more effectively, and even as we wind down this iteration, we continue to explore new ways to support developers and distribute technical knowledge. We’d love your feedback on what you’d like to see next—share your thoughts with us here. 

As we look toward the future, this issue explores the ever-evolving practices of software planning—a fitting topic for any team building what they want to see in the world or embarking on a transformative journey. We hope you enjoy every word of it.
